Indonesia is home to one of the world’s largest tobacco ecosystems. Its value chain spans the agricultural sector (tobacco and cloves), manufacturing, distribution, trade, labour, and micro and small enterprises, as well as contributing to state revenue. At the same time, the government bears the responsibility to improve public health outcomes through policies that regulate tobacco consumption, particularly among vulnerable groups and younger generations.
