Ismu Handoko is a businessman hailing from Bondowoso, specializing in the tobacco and
spice industries. In 2014, he established PT Natobin Tobacco Indonesia as the initial step in
launching his business. The development of his business was subsequently continued through
the establishment of a limited partnership called CV. Natobin International. Then, in order to
expand his business further, Ismu Handoko founded PT. Natobin Tobacco International in
2021. In the operation of his company, Ismu Handoko is assisted by his first, second, and third
children, who hold positions on the board of directors and as commissioners of PT. Natobin
Tobacco International.
Education
Ismu Handoko's education was primarily completed in Jember, starting from elementary
school (SD) to junior high school (SMP) and finally high school (SMA). In 1994, Ismu
Handoko made the decision to move to Bondowoso with the aim of pursuing a Bachelor's
degree in Public Administration at Bondowoso University. Furthermore, prior to that, Ismu
Handoko had already graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from
the Faculty of Computer Science. Subsequently, he continued his education at the Master's
level, specializing in Management, and ultimately graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors
in his Master's program at Muhammadiyah University in Jember.
Ismu Handoko began his career while pursuing his undergraduate studies at Bondowoso. In
1996, he worked at ASTRA International Honda Sales Operation and achieved recognition as
the world's top salesperson, with a 500% increase in market share in 1997. Ismu Handoko,
fueled by his entrepreneurial vision, made the decision to depart from Astra and establish his
own company in the agricultural sector, primarily focusing on tobacco, cocoa, and cashew
nuts. In connection with this endeavor, Ismu Handoko was appointed as the Chairman of the
Bondowoso Cashew Traders Association by the Regent of Bondowoso.
On another front, Ismu Handoko also became a supplier of tobacco raw materials and
fermented cocoa beans to IFF PT Essences Indonesia in 1997. Subsequently, in 2012, Ismu
Handoko became the primary supplier of all types of tobacco raw materials to IFF.
With the goal of launching his own business in 2014, he founded a company named PT.
Natobin Tobacco Indonesia. This was followed by the establishment of a limited partnership
called CV. Natobin International. In order to further expand his business, Ismu Handoko
subsequently established PT. Natobin Tobacco International in 2021. At present, Natobin has
started diversifying its business into the reconstituted tobacco sector and nicotine extract
production. Additionally, as a demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Natobin also
formed the Natobin Foundation
